I built BookFlow because I needed it too.
I’m Akkmal — a solo developer and freelance photographer in Malaysia.
I started BookFlow after experiencing the part of freelance work that nobody really talks about enough: the admin.
A job might only take a few hours to shoot, but around it there are enquiries to answer, bookings to confirm, clients to remember, invoices to send, payments to chase and expenses to keep track of.
None of those things are the reason we start freelancing.
But somehow, they can end up taking a surprising amount of our time.
It was everything around the work.
As a photographer, I wanted to spend more time shooting, improving my craft and working with clients.
Instead, I kept switching between notes, chats, calendars, spreadsheets and different tools just to keep the business side organised.
It worked — but it never felt simple.
And the more jobs you take on, the easier it becomes for small things to slip through:
a follow-up,
an unpaid invoice,
a booking detail,
a customer note,
an expense you forgot to record.
BookFlow started from a simple question:
“Why should running a small freelance business feel this complicated?”
I didn’t build BookFlow because I wanted another app.
I built it because I wanted less admin.
One place for the parts of freelancing that usually live everywhere.
BookFlow brings the everyday admin of freelance work together:

The goal is not to turn a freelancer into an accountant or business administrator.
The goal is the opposite.
BookFlow should quietly handle the structure, so you can spend more time doing the work you actually care about.

That means feedback does not disappear into a huge product team.
If something feels confusing, unnecessary or missing, I want to hear about it.
The product will keep improving around real freelance workflows, not just feature lists.
